Before contacting support

Why does Relicbound need location access?

Location access is used to find nearby walking destinations, calculate pedestrian routes and measure distance during an active expedition.

Does Relicbound track me when I am not walking?

No. Background location tracking is only intended to operate during an active expedition and stops when that expedition is completed or abandoned.

Why did an expedition stop recording?

Tracking can be interrupted by location permissions, poor GPS reception, Low Power Mode or the application being terminated. Relicbound attempts to preserve and recover active expedition progress.

Why did Apple Maps choose a different route?

Apple Maps controls the final walking directions and may recalculate them according to current map data, closures or your position.

Can I abandon an expedition?

Yes. Expeditions can be abandoned at any time without losing previously collected relics or museum progress.

Are suggested routes guaranteed to be accessible?

No. Relicbound validates that Apple Maps can generate a pedestrian route, but access conditions can change. Follow local signs and never enter private, closed or unsafe areas.

How do duplicate relics work?

Duplicate discoveries are converted into Restoration Fragments. Rarer relics and better-condition duplicates provide more fragments.

How do I restore a relic?

Open a discovered relic in the Museum and use Restoration Fragments to improve its condition. Higher condition levels reveal additional archive information.

Does Relicbound require an account?

No. Collection progress and expedition records are stored locally on your device.

Can Relicbound be used outside the UK?

Relicbound is intended to work anywhere Apple Maps provides suitable pedestrian routes and nearby points of interest, although launch testing will initially focus on the UK.

  • Your iPhone model
  • Your iOS version
  • The approximate area
  • The selected expedition type
  • Whether Apple Maps or the phone lock screen was open
  • A description of what happened

Do not send your precise home address or a detailed GPS trail.

Walking directions depend on Apple Maps.

Route availability and accuracy depend on Apple Maps data, current access conditions, network connectivity and device location accuracy.
